2012 roll on 1914/2014

October 11, 2012

London 2012 had a mixed impact on visitor attractions.  A lot of museums and galleries  linked their events and exhibitions with the games with mixed results.  However several museums are already working on the commemoration of the First World War in 2014, something that was brought up on the Today programme this week.  It is likely that the Coalition government will be keen to support a programme of activities during the summer of 2014.  Although public funds are likely to remain scarce now is a good time to start thinking about seeking grants if you are thinking of commemorating the Great War, especially as the  Heritage Lottery Fund is benefiting from a post Olympic uplift in funds.
